1. General

Q: What is Reap?

Reap is an online platform that let's you pay for any of your expenses using your credit card! Pay your expenses online easily and securely, save your cash by using credit, and receive rewards from your credit card!

Q: Is Reap secure?

We do everything to keep your information safe.
All credit card and account information is stored in a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard compliant network.
Reap will not store bank account, credit card, or any other sensitive information on our site. Please visit our Security page for more details.

Q: Is Reap free?

Signing up for a Reap account is completely free! However, we do have a transaction fee for each payment made. To find out more about transaction pricing, click to see our Pricing

Q: Can I use Reap to accept payments from my customers?

We can help you out with that. Please contact us at hello@reap.hk and we can work with your customers to start paying you on Reap.

Q: How do I get started making payments on Reap?

2. Cards & Rewards

Q: What are the rewards for paying with credit card?

Most credit cards offer rewards such as miles, cash back, rebates for spending on that card. By using Reap to pay with that card, you are entitled to any rewards related to the payment!These may vary from card to card and is provided by the issuing bank.

Q: Does Reap accept all credit cards?

Reap currently supports all Visa, Mastercard and American Express. International cards may be accepted, but may incur extra charges depending on the card.

Q: How does a credit card give me an interest-free period?

Credit card statement cycles are 30-31 days, and then in addition, will provide you another grace period before payment is actually due. Combined, depending which day during the statement cycle you made the payment, you are getting up to almost 2 months of interest free financing.

3. Payments

Q: Who can I pay? Do they need a Reap account?

You can pay anyone with a bank account! They don't need to sign up on Reap, and can be an individual or business, and will receive the funds in their bank account as usual.

What kinds of expenses can I use Reap to pay?

Reap allows individuals and businesses to pay for any verified goods or services globally (~40 different currencies) even if the receiving side doesn’t accept cards.

The recipient (who you’d like to pay):
does not need to setup a Reap account
receives funds in their preferred method (mainly bank transfers)most of the time,
does not even realize that you're using a separate provider to pay

We often get asked questions what kind of expenses we can support and the relevant supporting documents required for each expense category. To help answer this question, we’ve broken down some of the most popular expense categories and the relevant support document for each below.

If you own a business, you can join the hundreds of businesses using Reap to access instant credit and earn rewards.

A good general rule of thumb is that payment must be related to a specific, unbundled underlying good or service.

What are some restricted payments I CANNOT use Reap for?

Restricted payment categories may be imposed through Network Rules or the requirements of our Financial Services Providers. In certain cases, payment categories listed below may be eligible for processing with explicit prior approval from Reap. Note, however, that payments related to illegal products or services are never eligible to use the Reap Services. The types of payments listed in the right column are representative, but not exhaustive. If you are uncertain as to whether your payments is a restricted payment, or have questions about how these requirements apply to you, please contact us.

At the end of the day, we are not a peer-to-peer payment service. In order to support payments that appear as such, we will require documentation that outlines the goods or services provided.

Q: What kinds of expenses can I use Reap to pay?

Q: How long does it take to process a payment?

Your payment will be processed as soon as you enter your credit card details, however your recipient will receive the payment within 3 business days.

Q: What if my payment is rejected?

You may not have sufficient credit on the card you wish to use or your bank has declined the transaction. Alternatively, the information for the recipient you entered may not have been correct.

Q: Can I cancel a payment?

Depending on the status of the payment, it may be possible. Please contact hello@reap.hk

Q: How will I know when the payment is completed?

You will receive an email notification confirming the payment, and the status of the payment will update in your dashboard to completed.

4. API / Apps Integration

Q: What API / Apps Integrations does Reap offer?

We are working to bring integrations to some of your favourite SaaS softwares; including but not limited to Xero, Quickbooks, HR management tools, Inventory management tools etc. We will update the Features section to include which ones are available. Don't hesitate to let us know which integrations you would like to see.

5. Cross-border

Q: How does Reap send payments internationally?

Similar to how Reap works with domestic payments, Reap will help you use your credit card to send payment directly to your recipients' bank account. The card will be charged in your local currency, and then we work with cost-effective foreign exchange service providers to give you competitive exchange rates to your recipients currency, to send the payment in their currency.

We will provide full-clarity on the exchange rate you are getting, and any standard Reap handling costs. There will be no hidden charges.

Q: What countries/currencies can I pay to?

Reap can help you pay cross-border using over 40 currencies. Please find the full list on our dashboard.

Q: How long does it take for my cross-border payment to arrive?

The speed of arrival will vary depending on the recipient country, and we will tell you when it should be expected at time of payment. Our service level aim is to complete all payments within 5 business days.

Q: Is there extra cost for cross-border payments?

We charge a standard rate for credit card processing, same as domestic payments. And then convert the charged amount into your recipients' preferred currency. There is no extra charge for cross-border payments.

Q: Do I need a different credit card?

No, Reap will charge you in your local currency, determined by which country you setup your account for. So Reap will handle the foreign exchange, and you won't have to pay the extra 2% the credit cards would charge you for paying a different currency. No extra FX costs will be on your credit card bill.

Q: Will the bank charge me extra for this?

No, what you see on the payment page is what you will see on your credit card statement. We are transparent with the fees, and your credit card bank will not charge you extra.

Q: Will I be able to use Reap Credits with cross-border payments?

Reap Credits currently only apply to domestic transfers. We will allow you to apply your credits on international transfers in the near future.
